Kenya
Fear returned to the streets of Kenya in January with demonstrations causing violence and killings in the wake of the political stalemate. Cars were stoned, shops were looted and property burnt. As violence increased an ethnic angle was taken in some areas. Do continue to pray for Kenya. The anger has sown seeds of animosity between different communities that will take a long while to resolve. Pray that political peace and stability may be restored. Pray for the many

Chad and Dafur
Chad is one of 10 poorest countries in the world. It lies in the heart of the African continent and suffers from low rainfall and severe droughts. Chad endured three decades of civil warfare as well as invasions by Libya before a semblance of peace was finally restored in 1990. The government eventualy drafted a democratic constitution and held flawed presidential elections in 1996 and 2001. The Darfur region of western Sudan is closed to Christian work. It has been torn apart by ethnic conflict over the past years and many people have fled into neighbouring Chad. They are now live in camps in the Quaddai region. Pray for opporftunities for them to hear the gospel. Pray too for a peaceful solution and an end to the bloodshed amongst the Fur people.

Our missionaries and other connections
Remeber David and Marian in Italy. Pray particularly for their health. Thank God for Phil's recent visit to David and the encouragement it was for both of them.
Rember Angeline in her busy schedule of work with BCM and as she and David get used to married life together that they will be much blessed.
Pray for our friends in Albania - Andy and Ela and family in Tirana. Will and Doreta in Fier and Patmos (at the present time in the UK - praise God for the safe arrival of a son - pray for the churches in Fier and Patmos as Will and Doreta are away from them) Pray regarding Will's health, that this will improve and that the Lord would guide as to their possible move to a more suitable location within Albania.
Pray for friends in Burma as they recover from the effects of the recent cyclone. Thank God for Phil's recent visit to them and the way that He undertook in all things. May our brothers and sisters be given wisdom in the allocation of "gifts." Remember Shwekey in his present situation.

Pygmies in Cameroon
Many Pygmies in Cameroon, west-central Africa, still live today as they did 1,000 years ago - in tight-knit groups hunting for food. For centuries a devotion to the spirits of the forests and gods of the unseen realm has dominated Pygmy lives. Today, however, rumours of a new and powerful God are being whispered among these forest dwellers. Jesus! Pray for them to receive Him.
Three years ago Every Home for Christ workers began searching for Pygmy camps in remote, often dangerous forest regions of Cameroon. Slowly they made friends and saw people receive the Saviour. One pioneer started 14 Pygmy Christ Group fellowships. In one month alone in 2007, 578 Pygmy men and women gave their lives to Jesus, including a witch doctor, who experienced a fiery vision. Pray for this God to build His Church among the Pygmies.

Maldives
The Maldive Islands are a major challenge to the gospel. There are few Christians there and they are not even allowed to meet together. There is no complete Bible or even New Testament available in the language. Pray for translations of the Scriptures, with the help of Maldivian believers who have the ability to do so.
Male, in the Maldives, is considered the most densely populated capital of the world, with 100,000 people living in less than one and a quarter square miles packed with high-rise buildings. Pray for the gospel to reach them.

France
A spiritually needy country
There are 50,000 full time occultic practitioners, outnumbering Christians by a long way. Pray that the presence of Jesus would be stronger even in the darkest places. Pray that the Holy Spirit will refresh all who serve Him.

Senegal
AIDS problem
Young people are open to the gospel in Senegal where the church is very small, but many are sexually unrestrained and AIDS is taking its toll among them. Pray that they will see the srongness of this behaviour and their need of a Saviour. Pray too for those Christians who seek to win them for Jesus.
